The Obligations page is your central hub for every tax payment and filing deadline that applies to your business. Rather than maintaining a manual calendar, Penzum generates your obligations automatically and keeps them updated as your income and business situation evolve throughout the year.

How obligations are generated

You do not need to set up obligations manually. Penzum creates each deadline automatically based on three inputs it already holds:
  • Your tax form (e.g., átalányadó or KATA)
  • Your business type (full-time, part-time, or retired sole trader)
  • Your recorded income for the current tax year
As soon as a new obligation becomes due — for example, a quarterly SZJA advance payment or a monthly KATA transfer — it appears on the Obligations page with the correct statutory deadline.

Understanding obligation statuses

Every obligation on the page carries one of four statuses:
StatusWhat it means
UpcomingThe deadline is more than 30 days away — no immediate action required.
Due SoonThe deadline falls within the next 30 days — prepare to make the payment.
OverdueThe deadline has passed and the obligation has not been marked as paid.
PaidYou have marked this obligation as completed; it has moved to the archive.

Marking an obligation as paid

Penzum does not connect to your bank account, so you mark obligations as paid manually after completing the transfer.
1

Locate the obligation

Find the relevant obligation in the active list on the Obligations page. Use the status filters to focus on Due Soon or Overdue items first.
2

Open the obligation detail

Click the obligation row to open its detail view, which shows the tax type, due date, and any relevant amount estimate.
3

Mark as paid

Click Paid. The obligation immediately moves out of your active list and into the archive, keeping your obligations view uncluttered.
Mark obligations as paid promptly after each transfer. This keeps your Overdue count accurate and ensures that email reminders reflect your real outstanding balance.

Email reminders

Penzum automatically sends reminder emails to your registered email address as deadlines approach. You do not need to configure this — notifications are active for all users by default. Check your spam folder if you are not receiving reminders, and make sure your email address in Settings → Account is current.
The deadlines shown in Penzum are informational only. They are calculated from statutory rules but may not reflect exceptional circumstances, amended filing deadlines announced by NAV, or changes introduced by new legislation. Always verify your actual payment and filing deadlines with NAV directly or with your accountant before transferring funds.
