Bank account connection is a Navigator plan feature. If you are on a different plan and want to upgrade, visit your account settings.
How the connection works
Penzum connects to your bank using the European Open Banking standard (PSD2). This is the same regulated framework used by major fintech apps across Europe.Setting up your bank connection
Go to Settings → Connections
Click Settings in the left navigation, then select the Connections tab.
Click the Bank Account row
You will see a Bank Account entry in the connections list. Click it to begin the setup.
Select your bank
Choose your bank from the list of supported institutions. If you do not see your bank immediately, use the search box — the full list is available within the settings screen.
Approve access on your bank's interface
Penzum redirects you to your bank’s own secure login page. Follow your bank’s standard authentication steps (this may include a PIN, one-time code, or biometric confirmation depending on your bank). You are authorising read-only data sharing — your bank will show you exactly what is being shared before you confirm.
First import runs automatically
Once you approve access, Penzum immediately runs the first transaction import. Depending on your bank, this may include several weeks of transaction history. The import runs in the background — you will see your transactions appear in the Bank section within a few minutes.
Supported banks
Penzum integrates with banks that support the European Open Banking standard. This covers the vast majority of Hungarian retail and business banks, as well as many international banks operating in Hungary.Data security
Regulated connection
The Open Banking connection is subject to EU financial regulation (PSD2) and undergoes regular independent audits. The same legal framework governs all licensed Open Banking providers in Europe.
No stored credentials
Penzum never sees or stores your bank username, password, or PIN. Authentication always happens directly on your bank’s own interface — Penzum only receives the resulting transaction data.
Disconnecting your bank account
You can remove the bank connection at any time — no lock-in.Disconnecting your bank stops future imports, but all transactions that were already imported remain in Penzum. Your historical records, categories, and reports are unaffected.
