The Penzum Tax Calculator gives you a real-time picture of your expected annual tax burden, calculated from your actual invoiced revenue and your chosen tax form. As your income grows throughout the year, the calculator adjusts instantly — so you always know where you stand before a payment deadline arrives.

What the calculator shows

The calculator breaks your estimated tax burden into four components:

Personal Income Tax (SZJA)

Your estimated annual personal income tax, calculated on your taxable income after any applicable deductions or expense ratios.

Social Contributions

Social security contribution (TB-járulék) and social contribution tax (szociális hozzájárulási adó), shown as separate line items where applicable to your business type.

Local Business Tax (HIPA)

Local business tax estimated for your registered municipality — only displayed if you have enabled HIPA in your Penzum settings.

Total Estimated Tax Burden

A single combined figure showing the sum of all applicable taxes for the current tax year, based on revenue recorded to date.

How the calculator stays up to date

You never need to trigger a manual recalculation. Every time you add a new invoice in Penzum, the calculator recalculates your projected annual figures automatically. The current totals are also visible on your Dashboard summary, so you can check your tax position at a glance without navigating to the Calculator page.

Scenario Analysis

Scenario Analysis is available on the Navigator plan.
If you want to explore how your tax burden would change under different conditions, use the Scenario Analysis tool. You can compare outcomes across different tax forms (for example, átalányadó vs. KATA), different projected income levels, or different business classifications — all without affecting your live data. This is especially useful when you are considering a change to your business structure or expecting a significant shift in revenue.
The figures shown by the Tax Calculator are estimates only — they are not official tax assessments issued by NAV. Tax rules can involve individual circumstances that Penzum cannot account for automatically. Always verify your calculated obligations with your accountant before making any tax payments.
