# Managing your subscription

> Trial, billing, cancellation

If you don't have an active subscription yet, start one from the **Settings → Subscription** card with the **Start trial** button — this takes you to `/subscribe`.

## Trial period

After signing up, choose between a **30-day free trial** with a card on file (nothing is charged until the trial ends), or immediate **annual billing** with a 2-month discount. The trial can be cancelled anytime, free of charge.

While your trial is active, the Settings page shows a **Trial** badge and the number of days remaining.

## Billing and cancellation

Penzum offers a single subscription — there's no switching between plans. Updating billing details, changing your payment method, and cancelling are all handled through Stripe's secure, external billing portal: click **Manage subscription** on the **Settings → Subscription** card to get there.

## Cancellation

After cancelling, your account and data remain intact — only access to paid features ends at the close of the current billing period.
