# Obligations

> Tracking tax payment and filing deadlines

The Obligations page gives you an overview of upcoming and overdue tax payment tasks.

## How does an obligation appear?

Penzum automatically generates expected obligations based on your tax form, business type, and income — following statutory deadlines.

## Statuses

| Status   | Meaning                                  |
| -------- | ---------------------------------------- |
| Upcoming | There's still time to complete it        |
| Due      | The deadline is within 30 days           |
| Overdue  | The deadline has passed, not marked paid |
| Paid     | Marked as completed                      |

## Marking as paid

Once you've paid a tax, mark it as paid — it then disappears from the active list.

## Email notifications

Penzum sends email reminders about upcoming deadlines to your registered email address.
